In the 22/23 academic year, I worked with a group of students to create a project focused on mental health in young people.  Specifically, it was about anxieties in students regarding growing up, careers, exams and life in secondary school.

Whilst the basic project and plot was conceived and  outlined by Dale, the detailed script, scenes, characters and scenarios were devised and written with the students to make it authentic to the themes and issues of the piece.

Students from ages 5-11 were involved in the project.

In the 2021/22 academic year, I worked with students on issues of displacement, conflict and the themes of home.  We created a project based around evacuees in World War 2, a parallel to stories and events happening in contemporary time.

Originally devised as a live performance piece, we then adapted and changed how to perform our work due to ongoing COVID restrictions within schools and arts centres, thus we created an improvised film to show our work.

In creating the projects, all those involved learned the basic principles of film-making and ignited a passion of telling stories through film and developing our craft.
